Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff, providing guidance and direction as needed.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
- Assess patient status, administer medications as ordered, monitor for adverse effects, and document care and outcomes in the patient record.
- Triage and stabilize patients in the emergency department, communicate effectively with physicians and team members, and participate in rapid decision-making during high-acuity events.
- Support discharge planning and patient education, ensuring safe handoffs to subsequent care providers.
Requirements
- Active registered nurse (RN) license (state not specified in the listing)
- Emergency Department (ER) nursing experience preferred; strong clinical skills in high-acuity care
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required; ACLS recommended
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN)
- Ability to work nights and adapt to a fast-paced ER environment
