Responsibilities
- Deliver direct PACU and PreOp nursing care, including patient assessment, vital signs, airway management, and recovery monitoring
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, ensuring safe medication practices and accurate documentation
- Monitor for post-anesthesia complications, respond promptly to changes in patient status, and escalate to the anesthesia team as needed
- Collaborate with surgical and anesthesia staff to coordinate timely handoffs, discharge planning, and patient education
- Maintain accurate and timely electronic health record documentation, including progress notes and discharge criteria
- Ensure infection control, patient safety, and proper use and maintenance of perioperative equipment
Requirements
- Active Kansas RN license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of PACU and PreOp experience
- New graduates not accepted
- Ability to work a 4x10-hour schedule with varied start times and on-call rotations, in a perioperative setting
