Registered Nurse – Operating Room, Travel assignment in Burlington, Vermont, United States. Start date is 06/18/2026 for a 4-week contract. Weekly pay ranges from $2,782 to $2,916 per week. Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care and serve as scrub and circulator for a wide range of OR cases, including general OR, GU, GYN, ENT, eyes, plastics, lap, trauma, thoracic, and vascular procedures. Scrub skills are required for all specialties except CVOR.
- Maintain sterile technique, instrument counts, patient positioning, and intraoperative safety; collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and OR staff.
- Prepare and manage circulating and scrub checklists, document perioperative care in EPIC, and ensure accurate and timely communication with the surgical team.
- Adapt to a rotating day/evening schedule with a pattern typically comprising three 10-hour shifts plus one off shift; off-shift options include 0845–1915, 1045–2115, or 1245–2315.
- Participate in call requirements: one weekday call per week and one 24-hour call in each four-week schedule block; travelers must work 2 of the 4 holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Christmas Eve, and New Year’s Day).
- Complete all employment history information required for submission (bed count, EMR, facility type, etc.) and maintain compliance with unit needs and patient care standards.
Requirements
- Active RN license with license on file at time of submission
- Minimum 2 years OR RN experience; able to circulate and scrub across multiple specialties (except CVOR)
- Prior travel experience required; large (500+ beds) trauma Level 1 experience preferred
- EPIC experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)
- BLS certification
- Ability to work in a busy OR environment with rotating day/evening shifts
- Reliable transportation is strongly recommended due to limited public transit in the area; snow tires advised November–April
