Responsibilities
- Deliver direct postpartum and newborn care, monitor maternal and neonatal status, perform routine postpartum assessments, and respond to changes in condition.
- Administer prescribed medications and IV therapies (e.g., IV antibiotics; IV magnesium intermittently; PRBC; rhogam; lovenox) and monitor for adverse effects.
- Monitor for postpartum complications (e.g., postpartum hemorrhage), implement interventions per protocol, and ensure patient safety through care coordination.
- Support lactation and provide education to families; assist with breastfeeding, pumping, and newborn care routines; prepare for discharge planning.
- Document accurately in the EMR (EPIC or as directed); participate in rounds and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans.
- Schedule and shift requirements: must work every other weekend and every other major holiday; unit float as needed to cover patient loads.

Requirements
- Active Massachusetts RN license with NURSYS verification (active or conditional) pulled within the last 7 days.
- Current BLS and NRP certification at submission.
- 1+ year of acute care nursing experience in postpartum/postpartum OB and newborn care.
- Travel experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome.
- 2 recent Charge RN/Manager/Supervisor references matching specialty; Skills Checklist matching specialty.
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics.
- Flu vaccine required during season.
- EMR experience preferred (EPIC); on-unit orientation provided.
- Lactation certification preferred.
- RTO (time off) must be included at submission; not guaranteed after confirmation.
- Ability to work in a hospital setting and adapt to float needs.
