Responsibilities
- Provide PTA services under licensed PT oversight, implementing treatment plans for LTAC/SNF patients
- Assist patients with mobility, transfers, gait training, balance, and functional activities
- Administer therapeutic exercises, range of motion, strengthening, and functional training as prescribed
- Monitor patient progress, document outcomes, and communicate changes to the supervising PT
- Prepare treatment areas, set up equipment, and maintain safety and infection control standards
- Collaborate with nursing staff and the broader care team to coordinate care and discharge planning
Requirements
- Active California Physical Therapy Assistant license
- Graduation from an accredited PTA program; Associate Degree in Physical Therapy Assisting
- CPR/BLS certification
- Ability to work in a Skilled Nursing Facility/LTAC environment
- Prior PT assistant experience in LTAC or SNF preferred (not required)
- Strong communication and documentation skills
