Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for patients in labor, delivery, and the postpartum period according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, assess changes, document findings, and respond to evolving clinical conditions.
- Administer medications and provide support during labor and delivery, assisting with procedures as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of nursing staff at various levels; coordinate care with multidisciplinary team members while using professional judgment and critical thinking.
- Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, plans, interventions, and patient outcomes; ensure continuity of care across shifts.
- Uphold patient safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance in a fast-paced obstetric setting.
Requirements
- Current, active RN license in California
- Demonstrated experience or familiarity with labor and delivery nursing
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and participate in a travel assignment
- Strong clinical judgment, critical thinking, and supervisory capabilities
- Must meet credentialing and compliance requirements for assignment
