Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients for diagnostic scans, via oral, injection, or inhalation routes.
- Explain imaging procedures to patients, address questions, and position patients for scanning to optimize image quality and patient comfort.
- Operate imaging equipment, including SPECT/CT scanners, and perform quality checks per protocol.
- Process and generate images of brain, thyroid, bone, heart, lungs, kidneys, and liver for interpretation.
- Maintain detailed records of radiopharmaceutical usage, administered doses, and procedures performed.
- Produce computer-generated images for interpretation by physicians and ensure safe handling of radiopharmaceuticals to minimize radiation exposure.
Requirements
- NH license and certification to practice nuclear medicine required
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS/BLS) certification required
- 1 year of nuclear medicine experience preferred
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted for the above requirements
- Ability to work in a clinical imaging environment and maintain strict safety protocols
