Overview
Registered Nurse – Labor & Delivery (L&D) in Templeton, CA for a travel assignment. Start date: 11/09/2026. Assignment duration: 13 weeks. Weekly pay: $2,632 to $2,887 per week. Guaranteed hours: 48 per week. Shift: 3x12 Nights (7:00 PM–7:30 AM); role will initially begin on the Day Shift during onboarding, then transition to night shifts as internal movements finalize. Work in a short-term acute care hospital with a Labor & Delivery unit operating under an LDRP model, featuring a Level 1 newborn nursery (no NICU on site).

Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum patients and their families, including emergency perinatal situations
- Monitor fetal and maternal status, assess amniotic fluid, vaginal bleeding, and respond to perinatal complications; assist with urgent events such as crash C-sections and precipitous deliveries
- Manage pain control during labor and support alternatives when appropriate; assist with epidural catheter placement and monitor patient status during placement and after administration
- Educate patients and families across all stages of perinatal and postpartum care, considering age, culture, and learning readiness; document care clearly and timely
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement goal-oriented care plans; supervise and delegate tasks to ancillary personnel within scope of practice
- Maintain competency in L&D procedures and unit operations, including maternal and neonatal stabilization when needed; participate in a Baby Friendly LDRP environment and a Level 1 newborn nursery
Requirements
- Active RN license in the state of practice
- Associate Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred
- Minimum two years of recent Labor & Delivery experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS); Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP); and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course (per policy)
- EPIC electronic medical record experience; knowledge of GE Centricity and Keriton Charting systems
- Must be able to work in a Labor & Delivery setting with LDRP model and Level 1 newborn nursery (no on-site NICU)
- Ability to work the listed shifts and participate in rotating assignments; no mandatory call
