Responsibilities
- Provide direct bedside nursing care for adult patients on a Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit, including neuro assessments, vital signs, and ongoing monitoring.
- Administer medications and IV therapies per physician orders; manage IV pumps and tubes as needed; assist with NG or feeding tubes per protocol.
- Document patient care consistently in the EPIC electronic medical record; participate in interdisciplinary rounds and discharge planning.
- Monitor for changes in condition, respond to alarms, implement safety and infection-control measures, and perform incident reporting as required.
- Collaborate with physicians, case management, physical/occupational therapy, and other team members to support timely care transitions.
- Complete unit-specific education and participate in on-unit orientation and ongoing competency validation.

Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license; Nursys license verification required with active NY license and all active RN licenses.
- Current AHA BLS certification.
- NIHSS certification or ability to obtain prior to start (NIHSS is required for this unit).
- 2+ years of Med Surg Experience with stroke stepdown exposure.
- Travel nursing experience required; EPIC EMR experience preferred.
- Ability to work in a 64-bed adult Med Surg Stroke Stepdown unit; floating to related units as needed.
- Driver’s license with address that matches demographics.
- References and up-to-date resume documenting MS Stroke stepdown experience and travel assignments.
- RTO (time off) must be included at the time of submission.
