- Prior travel experience and Epic EMR experience required
Responsibilities
- Provide bedside RN care on a telemetry-enabled Med-Surg unit, including assessment, monitoring, and intervention
- Apply, interpret, and respond to telemetry rhythms; manage “pull-back” actions as indicated
- Perform NG tube insertion, peripheral IV placement, and other bedside procedures per unit protocols
- Manage postoperative care (e.g., ortho, urology, GI), COPD/CHF/diabetes care, end-of-life and dementia needs, and placement-related tasks
- Administer medications via Pyxis, document in Epic, and collaborate with RNs, LPNs/LNAs, and unit staff to coordinate care
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and the care team; participate in daily care planning and escalation when necessary
- Maintain unit efficiency and safety, follow infection control practices, and adhere to patient care protocols
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license to practice in Vermont
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, Telemetry Certification; NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Experience: 5 years med-surg telemetry experience or 3 years telemetry-focused experience; minimum 2 years clinical experience, with at least 1 year in the specialty
- Travel experience required; EPIC EMR experience within the last 2 years
- Must have completed 2 travel assignments in 300+ bed facilities or have prior experience at a UVMHN acute care facility
- Must be able to start within one week of offer
