Responsibilities
- Perform, assist, and complete Cardiac and Vascular radiographic examinations and active interventional procedures in the cardiovascular lab using advanced imaging equipment.
- Operate imaging systems to produce high-quality digital images; position and immobilize patients according to protocol; ensure proper patient comfort and safety during procedures.
- Assist physicians with specialized interventional procedures, including angiography and related studies; maintain sterile technique and radiation safety practices.
- Monitor patient status during procedures, communicate findings or concerns to the care team, and document procedures and results accurately.
- Mentor and train staff on technical skills; contribute to team development and, when appropriate, provide input into hiring and promotion decisions.
- Maintain equipment readiness, troubleshoot imaging issues, and adhere to department protocols and safety standards.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; Radiologic Technologist (RT) license in the state of practice; Basic Life Support (BLS) or CPR certification from an approved vendor per policy; Fluoroscopy (FLUORO) certification; department-specific licenses (PVMB/TEAM/CPI) and Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS) compliance.
- Education: Associate’s Degree or equivalent in radiologic technology; Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field preferred.
- Experience: At least two years of recent experience in the field; experience as a Special Procedures Technologist preferred; three years’ technical experience preferred.
- Other: Current nursing license per the state of assignment (as noted); ability to work in a home healthcare - hospice environment; willing to work nights and participate in after-hours coverage as needed.
