Responsibilities
- Independently administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted therapy, and injections per provider orders; access port-a-caths, PICCs, and Hickman catheters; perform venipuncture and dressings for ports, PICCs, and Hickman lines; conduct labs via ports/PICCs/Hickmans.
- Maintain accurate, concise records of patient condition, treatments, medications, and responses to therapy; monitor intravenous therapies and patient responses; escalate unusual findings to the Medical Oncologist or Nurse Practitioner and initiate emergency actions when necessary.
- Verify informed consent prior to administering chemotherapy; ensure proper handling, administration, and disposal of hazardous drugs; use appropriate PPE and maintain a safe clinical environment.
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers regarding medications, expected responses and side effects, disease process, nutrition, activity, and adjustments related to therapy.
- Maintain charting accuracy in Epic EMR and collaborate with the broader care team to support comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to institutional policies and procedures, infection control practices, and safety standards; participate in ongoing quality and safety initiatives as assigned.

Requirements
- Active RN license in Hawaii or eligible for licensure in Hawaii.
- Experience in hospital med/surg care; oncology infusion experience or port access skills are advantageous.
- Ability to administer chemotherapy and related therapies, including proper handling of hazardous drugs and PPE usage.
- Proficiency with Epic EMR and strong documentation skills.
- Must be able to arrive the Thursday before start date to complete employee health requirements; able to work the day shift on a 13-week assignment.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, adult inpatient setting and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
