Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adults in an acute rehab setting, with diagnoses including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injuries, and related conditions.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments, develop and revise care plans, monitor clinical status, manage medications, and address pain and symptom control.
- Perform phlebotomy and IV placement as part of mandatory unit competencies.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, respiratory, pharmacy, social services) to support rehabilitation goals and discharge planning.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, safety, bowel/bladder training, and self-care techniques to promote independence.
- Utilize EPIC for charting, including orders, progress notes, MAR, and care coordination documentation; ensure accurate and timely documentation.
- Assist with mobility and activities of daily living, using assistive devices (Hoyer lift, sit-to-stand lift) and implementing fall prevention and infection control practices.
- Monitor and respond to changes in neurological status and rehab-related indicators, coordinating with the team for timely interventions.

Requirements
- Current New York RN license in hand to submit
- BLS certification
- EPIC charting experience required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience
- Mandatory phlebotomy competency and IV placement
- Willingness to float to related units as needed
