Responsibilities
- Deliver respiratory care to inpatients on adult ICU and general units, with potential pediatric coverage as assigned
- Administer and monitor therapies including oxygen, aerosolized medications, bronchodilators, and ventilatory support; manage weaning as directed
- Assess patient status, interpret ABGs and trends, document findings, and adjust treatment in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Participate in rounds, communicate clearly with physicians, nurses, and other clinicians; address referrals from the ED when applicable
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (Epic) and ensure compliance with unit protocols
- Ensure patient safety and adherence to BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP guidelines; respond to clinical changes promptly
Requirements
- Active NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential; CRT not accepted
- NBRC verification and license on file at submission
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Education: Degree in Respiratory Therapy (or equivalent professional preparation)
- Experience: minimum 1 year of clinical RRT experience; prior travel experience preferred; teaching hospital experience required
- EMR experience: Epic experience within the past 2 years required
- Availability to work nights and weekend coverage; must be able to work in an inpatient setting and adapt to a travel assignment
