Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a med/surg telemetry overflow unit, including routine assessments and care planning
- Monitor telemetry readings and respond to changes; administer medications per orders; document in EPIC
- Perform phlebotomy and IV placement; manage NG/G-tube and feeding-tube care; Foley care
- Conduct basic wound care and dressings; manage JP/Hemovac drains as ordered
- Conduct vital signs, blood glucose checks, and EKG/12-lead monitoring; follow isolation precautions and complete admissions/discharges
- Float to med/surg as needed; collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and participate in unit orientation and procedures
Requirements
- New York state license in hand to submit
- Minimum 1 year of recent RN experience required
- EPIC charting experience required
- BLS certification required
- Phlebotomy and IV placement competency required
- Ability to float to med/surg as needed and complete a 12-hour orientation
