Responsibilities
- Perform mammography imaging, including patient positioning, compression, and exposure techniques to obtain diagnostic-quality breast images.
- Operate and troubleshoot mammography equipment, ensuring optimal image quality and patient safety.
- Verify patient data, document procedures, and maintain accurate imaging records in the radiology information system.
- Adhere to radiation safety guidelines (ALARA) and institutional policies; practice proper infection control and patient privacy.
- Communicate with patients to explain procedures, address discomfort, and ensure patient cooperation during imaging.
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, and the breast imaging team to support timely interpretation and department workflow.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts radiologic technologist license
- ARRT certification in Radiography and Mammography
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- 1+ year of experience in a similar breast imaging/mammography setting
- Ability to work in a hospital environment and follow department protocols
- Strong attention to detail, patient safety, and image quality
