Responsibilities
- Deliver direct nursing care in the Cath Lab per the nursing process and established standards of care.
- Collect and analyze data, develop and implement a care plan, and coordinate care with cardiology, anesthesia, radiology, and other disciplines.
- Monitor patient status, manage hemodynamics, administer peri-procedural medications, and respond to emergencies within ACLS guidelines.
- Prepare the Cath Lab environment, maintain patient safety, infection control, and assist with diagnostic, structural heart, vascular, and emergent Cath cases (including Impella, ECMO as applicable).
- Collaborate with the care team, supervise or delegate tasks as appropriate, and participate in discharge planning and patient education.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EPIC experience required) and support smooth handoffs across shifts.
- Participate in call requirements: 2 days per week and 1–2 weekends per month, consistent with unit needs.
Requirements
- Licensure: Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice (California) — Required
- Certifications: BLS (and CPR as applicable) and ACLS — Required
- Cath Lab experience: 2+ years of recent Cath Lab experience; must include exposure to structural heart, vascular, diagnostic procedures, and emergent cases (including Impella and ECMO as applicable)
- EMR: EPIC experience required
- Education: BSN preferred
- Additional: Ability to work on-site in Saint Helena, CA; availability for day shift schedule and call requirements per assignment
