Responsibilities
- Evaluate residents’ occupational therapy needs and develop individualized treatment plans to improve functional abilities and independence with activities of daily living.
- Provide evidence-based OT interventions to address upper-extremity function, fine motor skills, balance, and coordination.
- Monitor progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document outcomes in the resident’s chart.
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team (nursing, therapy, social work, and rehabilitation aides) to support discharge planning and care goals.
- Ensure safety, infection control, and adherence to facility policies and regulatory requirements during therapy sessions.
- Educate residents and families on activities and strategies to maintain progress and prevent decline.
