Responsibilities
- Perform clinical assessments to identify patient needs and determine appropriateness for physical therapy
- Document, prepare and review a Plan of Care (POC), progress notes, and other clinical records; revise the POC based on ongoing evaluation
- Plan and provide treatment for neuromuscular, neurological and orthopedic disorders per medical referral and therapy assessments
- Instruct patients and families in transfer techniques and safe use of equipment such as walkers, canes, braces and prosthetic devices
- Coordinate with the interdisciplinary team; provide patient/family education tailored to age, condition, culture and learning readiness
- Apply infection control principles and universal precautions; participate in appropriate supervision of other team members as applicable
Requirements
- Current State License as a Physical Therapist (Tennessee) – Required
- CPR certification – Required
- Current driver's license with reliable transportation – Required
- 1–2 years of PT experience in an acute care or rehabilitation setting – Required
- Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapy Association approved program – Required
- Ability to work in acute care/rehabilitation settings and participate in a travel assignment as needed
