This travel assignment places an LPN in a hospital-based long-term care environment serving residents with a focus on quality, respectful nursing care. The role requires adherence to patient rights and dignity while delivering competent nursing services within the scope of practice. Orientation and competency validation will be part of early training for this assignment.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, quality nursing care to long-term care residents in a hospital setting, following established plans of care.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with nursing standards and facility policies.
- Monitor patient conditions, assess vital signs, and promptly respond to changes or emergent situations.
- Perform routine nursing tasks and procedures, including basic wound care and IV therapy as allowed by certification.
- Document care activities accurately; communicate changes to the care team and coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other staff to ensure comprehensive care.
- Uphold patient rights, dignity, safety, and infection control practices; assist patients with activities of daily living as needed.

Requirements
- Licensure: Current Alaska LPN license in good standing
- Certifications: Current CPR certification (BCLS) required; current BLS
- Education: Graduate from an approved LPN/LVN program
- Experience: One year of hospital or long-term care experience preferred; new graduates accepted
- Additional: Must be capable of working night shift; ability to work effectively in a long-term care hospital setting
- Special note: Proof of completed COVID-19 vaccination required for travel assignments; must pass and maintain position-specific competencies
