PA-RN - ED - Nights - Mount Nittany, State College, PA. This travel nursing opportunity places a registered nurse in the emergency department on nights. Responsibilities
- Triage every patient entering the ED and determine priorities based on clinical status and patient flow
- Conduct thorough nursing assessments, document health history, and compile a comprehensive care plan
- Implement and adjust nursing interventions, monitor patient responses, and evaluate outcomes
- Ensure available and functioning supplies and equipment; support discharge planning and patient/family education
- Manage a range of emergencies per department policies and ENA standards; collaborate with the ED team
- Participate in on-call assignments as needed to address volume fluctuations and community events
Requirements
- Current Pennsylvania RN licensure
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS per American Heart Association standards; renewals every two years
- NIHSS certification
- EPIC computer charting experience preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment with a night shift
- A caring, professional approach with strong communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills
