Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care on a 14-bed med/surg telemetry overflow unit, including monitoring telemetry, vital signs, medication administration within scope, and rapid response to changes in patient status.
- Perform phlebotomy and IV insertion as part of core clinical skills; provide Foley care, simple wound care, enteral feeding/tube care, and routine dressing changes.
- Support isolation precautions, infection control, and patient safety; manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges; communicate status changes with the care team.
- Utilize EPIC for charting; document assessments, plan of care, procedures, and communications with the interdisciplinary team.
- Collaborate with IV teams, PT, Respiratory, RT/Interpretation Services, Radiology, Social Services, Pharmacy, Transport, and Unit Secretary; participate in daily rounds and handoffs.
- Float as needed to med/surg based on unit census and staffing; participate in incentive schedules and on-call as required.

Requirements
- Active New York state license in hand to submit; pending licenses not accepted
- Certification: BLS required
- Experience: Minimum 1 year med/surg (telemetry) experience; previous charge experience preferred
- Skills: Telemetry monitoring, feeding/enteral tube care, Foley care/insertions, wound care, IV therapy and phlebotomy competencies
- Education: Relevant nursing education for LPN; EPIC charting proficiency
- Ability to work in a high-demand med/surg/telemetry setting; willingness to float to med/surg as needed
- Orientation: Completion of a 12-hour orientation prior to start
- Vaccination: COVID-19 vaccine not required by the facility
