Overview
Registered Nurse – OR, operating room specialty, Hanford, California, starting October 5, 2026 for 13 weeks. Weekly pay range: $2,485–$2,585 per week with 36 guaranteed hours per week. Day shift, approximately 8:00 AM–4:30 PM, in a 173-bed short-term acute care hospital serving the Central Valley.

Responsibilities
- Deliver perioperative nursing care for surgical patients in the OR, applying the nursing process and established standards of care.
- Prepare the OR environment, manage equipment and supplies, maintain sterile technique, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.
- Monitor patient status pre-, intra-, and post-operatively; communicate with the surgical team and anesthesia providers; intervene as needed.
- Supervise and direct activities of circulating and other OR staff; coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams to support patient-centered outcomes.
- Document nursing assessments and interventions; participate in discharge planning and provide patient/family education related to perioperative care.
- Demonstrate critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent initiative to promote a safe, healing environment.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Current CPR/BLS certification from an approved vendor
- ACLS and PALS certifications (AHA or ARC) required
- Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience; OR experience preferred
- BSN is preferred
- DaVinci surgical system experience preferred
- Ability to work effectively in an operating room setting within a short-term acute care hospital
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Acute care facility experience preferred
- Licensure and certifications as listed above, current at time of assignment
