Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or group of patients in the ER according to established standards and the nursing process.
- Monitor patient status, perform assessments, administer medications, and respond to emergencies with appropriate clinical judgment.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff on the unit, ensuring safe and effective care delivery.
- Coordinate care with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
- Document patient responses, maintain accurate records, and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Provide education to patients and families as appropriate and assist with discharge planning and referrals as needed.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice in the state where the assignment takes place (California) or as otherwise verified.
- Ability to work nights in a fast-paced ER environment and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise nursing staff and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment and adapt to varied patient-care situations.
- Experience in acute/ER settings and familiarity with emergency protocols is preferred.
