Job title: GGH Level 2 RN ED - FT D/N. This acute care travel assignment places an RN in the Emergency Department with level 2 responsibilities, located in Geneva, New York, United States. Responsibilities
- Perform ED triage and primary/secondary assessments, determine urgency, and establish priority of care using established triage standards.
- Deliver direct nursing care to patients across the age spectrum, including airway management, monitoring, medication administration, IV therapy, and use of invasive/non-invasive procedures as clinically appropriate.
- Recognize and respond to life-threatening and acute conditions; initiate appropriate interventions, monitor patient progress, and escalate as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians and the broader ED team, communicate patient status clearly, provide updates to patients and families, and educate patients on procedures, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures and treatments, assist with procedures as needed, and coordinate referrals for post-emergency care and education.
- Document care accurately, maintain infection prevention practices, ensure patient safety, and maintain clear patient/family communication throughout the ED stay.
Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- BLS, ACLS, PALS, and Stroke Certification (American Heart Association or Regional Quality Initiative acceptable)
- Minimum two years of acute hospital RN experience; at least one year of Emergency Department RN experience
- Ability to work in a fast-paced ED environment, with 3x12 rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Eligibility to work as a travel clinician and ability to meet on-call requirements
