Registered Nurse – PCU (Progressive Care Unit) for a travel assignment in a hospital-type setting in Potsdam, New York. Start date: 07/06/2026. Duration: several weeks. - Core skills: Telemetry/PCU/stepdown care, dysrhythmia management, IV insulin and heparin protocols, central line care, wound care, airway management, and post-op care
- Charting: EPIC experience required; unit systems include EPIC, Pyxis, SBAR

Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for PCU and MS Telemetry populations, including post-surgical and overflow medical diagnoses
- Monitor telemetry, recognize and respond to dysrhythmias, and titrate or administer cardiac-related medications per protocol
- Manage IV insulin and heparin protocols; administer blood products and perform routine phlebotomy
- Provide central line/PICC/port care, airway support including HFNC and non-invasive ventilation, and wound care (including Wound VAC) as needed
- Assist with orthopaedic and trauma postoperative care, including total joints, traction, and catheters
- Collaborate with PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, and Unit Secretary; participate in rapid response when needed
- Document thoroughly in EPIC and communicate changes using SBAR with the care team
- Maintain patient safety, falls prevention, and care planning for mixed acuity patients

Requirements
- Active New York RN license in hand
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute care RN experience
- PCU/IMC/stepdown experience within the last 3 years
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS required
- EPIC experience required
- Travel - First-time travelers accepted; ability to float to sister units as needed
- Education: RN degree (no additional education details provided beyond licensure)
