Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an ICU patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care; monitor patient status and respond to changes in condition.
- Administer medications and treatments per orders; ensure accuracy and safety in all procedures.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate appropriately and provide guidance as needed.
- Coordinate care with other disciplines; communicate effectively with physicians, therapists, case managers, and support staff.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making to optimize patient outcomes and safety.
Requirements
- Active California RN license (unrestricted)
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program (RN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
- Ability to work in an ICU/critical care setting and perform 12-hour day shifts
- Willingness to participate in a travel assignment for 8 weeks
- Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
