Speech Language Pathologist – Acute Care in Juneau, Alaska. This travel assignment supports a community mental health provider setting within Rehabilitation Services, with a primary focus on general Speech-Language Pathology evaluations and treatments across a wide age range. Start date is 07/27/2026 for a 13-week contract with 40 guaranteed hours per week. The shift is 4x10 days. Work may occur in multiple care settings, including inpatient, outpatient, Home Health, and community programs, with occasional travel to remote locations by boat or small plane as needed. Flu vaccine is required for pediatric clinic work.

Responsibilities
- Provide Speech-Language Pathology services by physician referral across inpatient, outpatient, Home Health, and community settings
- Perform assessments and evaluations; establish a plan of care with goals; implement and adjust therapy to maximize functional outcomes
- Communicate with referring providers, nurses, and rehabilitation colleagues; participate in care conferences and discharge planning; coordinate equipment and services as needed
- Document findings, treatment plans, progress notes, and prognoses in accordance with hospital/payer policies and ASHA guidelines; ensure timely workflow for continuity of care
- Develop and deliver patient and family education, including clear home exercise programs; tailor instruction to cultural and linguistic needs; supervise students or interns when assigned
Requirements
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- CCC-SLP credential and Alaska state license in Speech-Language Pathology (active at time of submittal)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Pediatric and outpatient experience required
- Flu vaccine required
- Ability to work across inpatient, outpatient, Home Health, and community settings; willingness to travel to remote locations as needed
