Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive OT evaluations and establish individualized treatment plans for adults in an acute care context.
- Implement evidence-based OT interventions to improve or restore independence in activities of daily living and mobility.
- Facilitate discharge planning and coordinate with the multidisciplinary team to support smooth transitions of care.
- Document assessments, progress notes, treatment plans, and outcomes in the electronic medical record; adjust plans as needed.
- Educate patients and families on therapeutic goals, home exercise programs, and safety strategies.
- Maintain safety, infection control, and compliance with all regulatory and facility policies; participate in rounds and care conferences as needed.
Requirements
- Active Occupational Therapy license in the appropriate state or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program
- Experience in acute care OT preferred; travel/seasonal assignments considered
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment and to document clearly and timely
- Strong communication and patient- and family-centered care skills
- Availability to start by the stated date and commit to the 13-week assignment
