Responsibilities
- Demonstrate competence in selecting exposure factors and positioning to consistently produce radiologic images of diagnostic quality.
- Instruct and prepare patients for radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations; assist the Radiologist during procedures.
- Operate x-ray equipment and CR/DR systems; report equipment malfunctions to the manager or lead.
- Administer oral contrast as needed and maintain medication security according to unit policies.
- Maintain documentation in Hospital Information System (HIS), Radiology Information System (RIS), and PACS; participate in performance improvement activities when warranted.
- Demonstrate professionalism in patient interactions, maintain confidentiality, and manage time effectively between procedures while assisting with clerical duties and patient transport as needed.
Requirements
- NY State license as Radiologic Technologist (licensure in the state of NY)
- ARRT certification (AART) required
- BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
- Minimum of two years of radiology experience
- Neurosurgery/Neuroscience experience required
- Vascular Interventional Radiology (VIR) experience preferred
