Travel Registered Nurse Endoscopy Job
Registered Nurse - Endoscopy sought for a travel assignment in a short-term acute care setting located in San Luis Obispo, CA. Start date: August 17, 2026. The assignment runs for 8 weeks with guaranteed 40 hours per week. Shift pattern is 3x12-hour day shifts. Weekly pay ranges from $2,112 to $2,160. This role supports Bronchoscopy, Endoscopic Ultrasound (EUS), and Endobronchial Ultrasound (EBUS) procedures, including intra-procedural patient monitoring, post-sedation recovery, and clear discharge instructions.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and set up equipment for GI procedures, including endoscopes, accessories, and related supplies, ensuring sterility and proper functioning.
- Perform appropriate patient assessments pre-procedure and monitor physiological status during procedures; recognize and respond to changes in patient condition.
- Assist the physician and/or advanced practice provider during diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures to support optimal patient outcomes.
- Manage pre- and post-sedation assessments, follow established protocols for minimal/moderate sedation, and provide post-procedure instructions to patients and families.
- Conduct post-procedure monitoring, identify potential complications, and communicate findings to the care team and discharge planning.
- Maintain infection control standards, document care accurately in the electronic medical record (Epic), and ensure proper equipment cleaning and handling.
Requirements
- Licenses/Certifications: Current RN license in the state of practice (California) required; Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required; AHA-ACLS or ARC-ALS certification also required.
- Education: High School diploma or GED required; Associate Degree in Nursing (A.A. or A.S.) required; Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year GI/endoscopy nursing experience required.
- Additional: Current Epic experience required; ability to work in a high-acuity GI/endoscopy setting; demonstrated clinical judgment and ability to follow discharge instructions; ability to work 3x12-hour day shifts.
