In this role, you’ll own key responsibilities that reinforce your expertise and advance your LTC specialty. You will assess residents’ conditions, administer medications, monitor vital signs, interpret labs, and promptly update care plans in collaboration with physicians, therapists, social workers, and families. You’ll lead efficient handoffs during shift changes, ensure precise documentation in electronic health records, and advocate for evidence-based practices in safety, nutrition, and rehabilitation. You’ll participate in care coordination during transitions, support discharge planning, and mentor nursing assistants to uphold high standards of infection control, medication safety, and compassionate, person-centered care. The LTC setting invites ongoing professional growth—opportunities to pursue geriatric care certifications, leadership tracks, and potential advancement to roles such as charge nurse or nurse manager.
