Travel Registered Nurse OR Job
Registered Nurse – OR, Burlington, VT, United States. Start date 06/29/2026 for a 16-week travel assignment with a weekly pay range of $2,874–$2,990 and a rotating 3x12-hour schedule. Responsibilities
- Provide intraoperative nursing care for cardiovascular/open-heart procedures, including scrubbing for heart cases and circulating when required, with strict adherence to sterile technique and instrument readiness.
- Prepare the operating room and equipment, assist with patient positioning, and coordinate with anesthesia and the surgical team to promote patient safety and efficient case flow.
- Monitor patient status throughout the procedure and document perioperative care, including specimen handling and counts, with accurate notes in the EMR.
- Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, perfusionists, and perioperative staff; respond effectively to intraoperative changes and ensure timely room turnover.
- Participate in the unit’s on-call scheduling as required (weekday calls 1900–0715 and one full weekend of call every five weeks) and maintain flexibility to meet unit needs.
- May be required to float to other OR suites (General, Orthopedic, Neuro, ENT, etc.); if floated, circulator duties apply rather than scrub duties for non-heart cases.
Requirements
- Active RN license (state not specified)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years OR RN experience with recent cardiovascular/open-heart procedures
- Must be able to scrub for heart surgeries; CNOR certification preferred
- Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years (nonnegotiable)
- Prior travel nursing experience required
