Responsibilities
- Assess patient health history and oncology status; address physician orders and plan care accordingly
- Administer chemotherapy and immunotherapy agents per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and infusion-related complications
- Provide patient and family education on treatment goals, medications, side effects, and symptom management
- Monitor patients during infusion visits, including vitals and response to treatment; intervene as needed for safety
- Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC electronic health records; ensure timely communication with the cancer care team
- Support continuity of care by coordinating with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff; uphold infection control and safety standards
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license
- Minimum 2 years of chemotherapy administration experience
- EPIC experience
- ONS Fundamentals of Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Administration Certification required
- Ability to work a day shift, Monday–Friday, in an outpatient infusion setting
- Strong communication and patient education skills; comfort working in a specialized oncology infusion environment
