Responsibilities
- Assess patients’ care needs, develop and reassess plan of care in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
- Provide and coordinate nursing care with the physician for individuals and groups of patients
- Teach patients and families; assist in milieu management; participate in discharge planning and aftercare education
- Document, report, and verify information according to established policies and procedures
- Monitor for safety risks and communicate concerns to the physician to prevent adverse outcomes; maintain a safe environment for patients and staff
- Serve as a clinical lead, delegating/coordinating staff assignments and promoting staff development; contribute to ongoing practice improvement
Requirements
- Active Michigan registered nurse license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 2 years behavioral health experience (required)
- Pediatric experience (required)
- Experience in inpatient adolescent behavioral health settings
- Availability for every other weekend shifts
