Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for obstetric patients and assigned groups following established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, perform assessments, administer medications, and manage IV therapy as appropriate.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of nursing staff; delegate tasks and coordinate care with other disciplines.
- Collaborate with obstetricians, anesthesia, neonatology, and support services to develop and implement comprehensive care plans.
- Document nursing care accurately in patient records and maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and quality standards.
- Provide patient education and discharge planning to support families throughout the perinatal period.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Labor and Delivery experience preferred; strong clinical foundations in obstetric nursing
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts and adapt to a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
- Professional nursing practice aligned with standards and ethical guidelines
