Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for ER patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Assess patient conditions, monitor vital signs, and respond to changes with appropriate intervention.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered and document care accurately.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; delegate tasks as appropriate.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary team members to ensure safe, efficient patient flow.
- Apply critical thinking and professional judgment to prioritize and escalate care as needed.
Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Minimum 1 year of ER nursing experience (or current high-acuity clinical experience)
- BLS certification; ACLS certification preferred or to be obtained per unit requirements
- Ability to work evenings and 12-hour shifts in a fast-paced ER environment
- Graduate of an approved nursing program (ASN or BSN)
