Responsibilities
- Deliver direct patient care for adults across the acute care spectrum, coordinating with the interdisciplinary team to develop and adjust the plan of care.
- Administer medications and treatments, monitor patient responses, and document progress accurately in the chart.
- Educate patients and families on self-care, discharge planning, and post-hospital lifestyle changes; tailor teaching to individual learning needs.
- Promote patient safety and infection prevention, adhering to evidence-based practices and clinical policies.
- Participate in call rotations with 1-hour on-call response time; the schedule generally includes 6–8 days of call per month, including one Friday, one Saturday, and one Sunday.
Requirements
- Active New York State Registered Nurse license.
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience in an Endoscopy/Endo environment.
- Ability to function effectively in an acute care setting with adult, adolescent, and geriatric populations.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills; capable of coordinating care across the healthcare team.
- Availability to work a 4x10-hour shift pattern and participate in on-call responsibilities as described.
