Central Vermont Medical Center - Berlin, VT
Mid Level
Step into a pivotal role as a Registered Nurse in Labor & Delivery, right in the heart of Vermont’s serene cityscape—Berlin. This weeks-long assignment begins on 04/13/2026 and offers a compelling path to influence families at one of life’s most meaningful moments. You’ll navigate the fast-paced rhythms of the labor suite with the confidence that comes from expert teamwork, evidence-based practice, and a culture that honors your expertise. While you deliver evidence-driven obstetric care, you’ll also have time to savor the region’s beauty—rolling green mountains, quaint town centers, and vibrant seasonal scenery that makes Vermont a refreshing hub for healthcare professionals who value balance and connection.

Location benefits go beyond a single facility. Berlin, Vermont places you in a charming environment known for safety, community, and access to outdoor recreation. Picture mornings spent hiking the nearby trails, afternoons exploring local markets, and weekends enjoying winter sports in the Green Mountains. The state’s compact geography makes commuting predictable and liberating—short drives to neighboring towns, easy weekend getaways, and a pace that supports professional focus. For travelers who relish variety, there’s also the opportunity to work across our network in diverse U.S. locations, gaining exposure to a range of obstetric settings—from high-volume urban centers to intimate rural units. This flexibility expands your clinical repertoire while maintaining the trusted support that accompanies every assignment, wherever you choose to serve.

Role specifics and benefits are designed to elevate your practice and your professional trajectory. As the L&D RN on this assignment, your responsibilities will center on safe labor management and collaborative delivery care. You’ll perform comprehensive maternal and fetal assessments, monitor labor progress with external and internal monitoring as appropriate, and coordinate timely interventions with obstetricians, midwives, anesthesiologists, and neonatal teams. Your duties will include assisting vaginal and cesarean deliveries, supporting labor analgesia, conducting newborn assessments, initiating and supporting lactation care, and providing patient and family education that fosters informed decision-making and confidence. Documentation, safety protocols, infection prevention, and quality improvement initiatives will be integral parts of your daily practice. The role also presents opportunities for specialty growth—advancing in lactation support, pursuing additional obstetric certifications, and assuming preceptorship roles to mentor new nurses entering L&D.

You’ll benefit from a competitive compensation structure designed for traveling professionals, including weekly pay ranging from $2,688 to $2,819. In addition to pay, the engagement offers an attractive mix of housing assistance and potential extension opportunities, enabling you to build continuity within the specialty while exploring longer-term options with the network. A sign-on consideration and performance-based incentives may be available, complemented by a comprehensive benefits package that supports your health, financial security, and professional development. Support does not end at the hospital door: 24/7 travel-specific support ensures you’re never navigating the road or the shift alone. A dedicated travel team handles housing logistics, credentialing, shift confirmations, and contingency planning, so you can focus on delivering exceptional obstetric care and maintaining work–life balance.

Our company values empower nurses to advance their careers within a nurturing and dynamic ecosystem. We are committed to a culture of growth, mentorship, and recognition—investing in ongoing education, leadership development, and pathways to more advanced roles within labor and delivery and broader perinatal services. You’ll find a work environment that prioritizes collaboration, psychological safety, and professional pride, where your clinical judgment is respected and your ideas for process improvement are welcomed. This is more than a contract; it’s a stepping-stone to deeper expertise, broader scope, and a future in which your contributions shape patient experiences and outcomes.
