- Administrative note: Admin fee is deducted from the rate; facility reserves right to cancel up to 5 shifts during the 13-week assignment
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to adult medical-surgical patients, including assessment and ongoing monitoring
- Develop and implement patient care plans, administer medications and therapies per physician orders, and monitor responses
- Perform essential nursing procedures (IV therapy, wound care, basic life support tasks as needed) and document care accurately
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the multidisciplinary team to coordinate patient care and discharge planning
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and post-discharge care; ensure patient safety and infection control standards are upheld
- Maintain compliance with state practice regulations and hospital policies while delivering high-quality Med Surg care
Requirements
- Current New York State Registered Nurse license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required
- Minimum 2 years Med Surg nursing experience
- At least 1 year of travel nursing experience
- Ability to work a 3x12-hour night shift schedule
- Eligible to work in a Med Surg unit within a short-term acute care setting
- Local travel within 50 miles acceptable with a bill-rate adjustment
