Responsibilities
- Provide scrub and circulating support for a combined Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology unit
- Assist with diagnostic and interventional cardiac caths and IR procedures (drains, tubes, biopsies, kyphoplasty, nephrostomy, embolization, and related interventions)
- Chart in EPIC and maintain accurate, timely documentation; monitor patient status during procedures; perform 12-lead EKG and dysrhythmia recognition
- Manage phlebotomy and IV starts; start and maintain IV lines as needed
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Transport, Social Work, Rapid Response, Unit Secretary, and Interpretation services
- May float to support unit needs; accepting first-time travelers
Requirements
- Active New York RN license in-hand
- Minimum 2 years of cath lab experience including both Cardiac Cath and Interventional Radiology; IR-only profiles not accepted; EPIC charting experience required
- ACLS and BLS required; RCIS preferred; ARRT not required
- Proficient in scrub procedures, circulating, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs
- Must be able to work in a combined Cardiac Cath & Interventional Radiology unit; adult/geriatric patient population
- Locational requirement: candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the work site (locals within 75 miles are not accepted); RTO no greater than 10 days preferred (approx. 1 week); orientation 40 hours; ability to float as needed
