Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for an individual patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while applying critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
- Monitor patient status, assess needs, administer medications, document findings, and escalate changes in condition as appropriate.
- Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and support teams to plan and adjust patient care plans in real time.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and adherence to evidence-based practices; ensure accurate and timely documentation in the patient record.
- Communicate clearly with patients and families, providing education and support as needed during the care episode.
Requirements
- Active RN license to practice nursing in California (state-specific licensure required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) may be preferred
- ER nursing experience or strong exposure to high-acuity care settings recommended
- Ability to work evenings and 12-hour shift schedules in a fast-paced environment
- Eligibility for a travel assignment in California and ability to provide necessary credentialing documentation
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills; ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
