Travel Registered Nurse First Assist Job
Registered Nurse – First Assist (RNFA) travel assignment in Rochester, New York. Start date May 11, 2026 for a 13-week contract. Weekly pay ranges from $2,578 to $2,722. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with surgeons and the perioperative team to perform safe operations with optimal patient outcomes as the RN First Assistant (RNFA)
- Function in the RNFA role with responsibilities in the operative phase, while also performing standard OR staff RN duties when not assigned as RNFA
- Scrub and circulate in the operating room, applying perioperative nursing knowledge and judgment
- Support robotic-assisted procedures, including DaVinci robotics, across eligible surgical specialties
- Maintain compliance with CNOR standards and participate in quality and safety initiatives in the OR
- Communicate clearly with team members and respond to intraoperative changes to ensure patient safety
Requirements
- NYS license: Registered Professional Nurse (RN) in New York
- CNOR certification
- Completion of an accredited RN First Assistant program
- DaVinci robotic experience required; robotic experience in surgical specialties encouraged
- Minimum 2 years of OR experience; level I trauma experience preferred
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Eligible to work in a hospital perioperative setting; ability to work Monday–Friday day shifts with on-call as required
