Responsibilities
- Administers and controls narcotics and medications; administers IV fluids per policy.
- Accurately charges for patients and unit supplies.
- Provides care to patients across the age spectrum served (infant, adolescent, adult, geriatric) with age-appropriate assessment and interventions.
- Performs comprehensive patient assessments, develops and implements an age-appropriate plan of care, and documents patient status, interventions, and responses.
- Communicates effectively with the patient care team, patients, families, and physicians; educates patients and families as appropriate.
- Demonstrates leadership in directing and delegating tasks to other team members; responds promptly and professionally in emergencies.
- Maintains a clean, safe, and organized unit and patient care area; adheres to policies and procedures; completes end-of-shift reports and handoffs.
- Takes on additional duties as assigned to support patient care and unit operations.
Requirements
- Active RN license in California.
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program with an RN degree.
- Experience in labor and delivery or a women's care unit is preferred (RN II level or equivalent).
- Ability to work night shifts (3x12) in a hospital setting.
- Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills; ability to collaborate with the care team and families.
- Commitment to patient-centered care and adherence to licensing and regulatory standards.
