Travel Licensed Practical Nurse Med Surg Job
Licensed Practical Nurse – Med Surg, Rochester, New York. Travel - temporary assignment beginning 06/01/2026 for weeks. Weekly pay $1,197-$1,249 per week. Shift 3x12 Nights. The assignment supports a 14-bed med/surg-telemetry overflow unit that accommodates ED boarders, with an orientation period of 12 hours. EPIC is the charting system used. First-time travelers are accepted. The unit coordinates closely with IV/therapy teams and other disciplines and may require float to med/surg care based on patient census.

Responsibilities
- Provide nursing support for medically ill adults on a med/surg floor with telemetry monitoring, under RN supervision.
- Perform routine assessments, vital signs, documentation, and timely communication of patient status changes to the RN/MD using SBAR.
- Assist with activities of daily living, maintaining comfort and safety, and supporting mobility and basic wound care as delegated.
- Participate in interdisciplinary care with teams including IV/therapy, PT, Respiratory, Radiology, Pharmacy, Social Services, RRT, Transport, Unit Secretary, and Interpretation Services; ensure care coordination.
- Maintain EPIC charting accuracy and completeness; observe infection control and isolation precautions; recognize and report changes in patient condition.
- Prepare and assist with procedures and basic care tasks as assigned; support clinical workflows and patient flow, including discharge preparation when applicable.
Requirements
- Active New York Licensed Practical Nurse license (in hand)
- BLS certification
- EPIC charting experience required
- Minimum 1 year RN experience required; previous charge experience preferred
- Ability to work in a med/surg with telemetry setting; willing to float to med/surg as needed; weekend coverage required
- RTO: Minimal — candidates with >10 days RTO not accepted
- COVID-19 vaccine: Not required
