Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields for a broad range of procedures across service lines, including robotic-assisted and laparoscopic cases
- Pass instruments, manage sponges and sharps, assist with instrument counts, and support surgical team during operation
- Set up and troubleshoot instrumentation and equipment for general, specialty, vascular, neuro, ortho, ENT, urology, and gyne procedures; assist with robotic systems (Da Vinci Xi) as applicable
- Uphold aseptic technique and universal protocol, including time-outs and safe handling of sharps and implants
- Facilitate intraoperative communication, anticipate needs of the surgeon, and document pertinent details in the chart using EPIC
- Work within a 1:1 patient ratio during days; may float to other ORs as required and participate in call coverage

Requirements
- Active NY license in hand to submit
- CST certification required unless candidate worked as a surgical tech in NY prior to 2015
- NBSTSA credential recognized
- EPIC experience is a hard requirement; confirm competency prior to submittal
- Travel experience required; prior charge experience required
- Minimum 3 years surgical tech experience required; 3+ years preferred (note: a 1-year minimum is referenced in some submittal sections—confirm with recruiter)
- Trauma experience: Level II preferred
- Ability to work in an acute perioperative setting with complex cases
- Shift flexibility: able to work an 11a or 1p shift each week (as scheduling allows)
