Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job
Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical, located in Hilo, Hawaii. This is a 13-week travel assignment starting June 1, 2026. Weekly pay ranges from $1,835 to $1,912. Shifts are 12 hours on days (0645–1915), with a scheduled 36 hours per week after orientation; there is no guaranteed minimum number of hours. The role supports an acute care setting with Medical, Laulima (surgical acute) and Cardiovascular units, with float responsibilities across units as needed.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care to adult medical-surgical patients, including assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation
- Administer medications, monitor patient conditions, and respond to changes in status; perform standard nursing procedures as assigned
- Float between Medical Unit, Laulima Unit, and Cardiovascular Unit as needed; support other units during staffing fluctuations
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams; document in the Meditech EMR; utilize Pyxis for medication dispensing; manage wound vac and chest tubes as applicable
- Maintain patient and family education, discharge planning, and continuity of care; adhere to unit protocols and safety standards
- Uphold infection control practices, dress code, and professional nursing standards; ensure appropriate staffing ratios and patient safety
Requirements
- Hawaii state RN license active by start date (applicants not currently licensed in Hawaii must apply upon acceptance of offer)
- BLS required; ACLS required (or obtained within onboarding, with preferred: PALS, Procedural Sedation, TNCC, ENPC)
- Experience: 2–10 years of RN experience in relevant medical-surgical or float-capable roles
- Floating/cross-unit competency to Medical, Laulima, and occasional Cardiovascular units
- Ability to work 12-hour day shifts (0645–1915) and adapt to unit needs; able to operate in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Education: RN from an accredited nursing program (as applicable to Hawaii licensure)
