Surgical Technologist | Pediatric Operating Room

Start date: April 27, 2026 | 13-week travel assignment | Weekly pay range: $1,398 per week - $1,464 per week | Shift: 4x10-hour nights | Hospital-based pediatric OR
This position supports pediatric surgical services in a hospital setting. Orientation on days is required for the first 1–2 weeks before transitioning to straight night shifts. There are no weekend or on-call duties assigned to this role.

Responsibilities
- Prepare the sterile field and scrub/circulate for pediatric surgical cases across multiple specialties, including general surgery, urology, dental, OMFS, neurosurgery, plastics, burns, ENT, and orthopaedics
- Manage instrument counts, equipment, and supplies; assist with positioning and patient safety throughout procedures
- Support anesthesia and surgical team, assist with specimen handling, and ensure proper documentation of intraoperative activities
- Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique, infection control protocols, and hospital policies
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver safe, efficient pediatric perioperative care
Requirements
- NYS license: Active Surgical Technologist license (or eligible for grandfathering under NY Public Health Law 2824)
- BLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Two years of OR experience required; pediatric experience is helpful
- Ability to scrub and circulate; experience in a level 1 trauma setting preferred
- Must be able to work in a hospital-based pediatric operating room environment
