Travel Registered Nurse Radiology Job

Rochester, NY
Contracted
URMC Strong Memorial Hospital
Mid Level
Step into a dynamic Travel Nursing opportunity as a Registered Nurse in Radiology, anchored in Rochester, New York, with a start date of 04/13/2026. This role invites you to blend clinical expertise with compassionate patient care in high-demand imaging environments. You’ll guide patients through imaging workflows—CT, MRI, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound—ensuring comfort, safety, and precise procedural support. As you rotate through partnering facilities or work within Rochester facilities, you’ll refine your radiology nursing skills, collaborate with technologists and physicians, and build a professional network that spans the country. Imagine contributing to accurate diagnoses while enjoying the cultural vibrancy, historic neighborhoods, and natural beauty of upstate New York. This assignment spans multiple weeks, offering the right balance of continuity and variety for a nurse who loves growth and new experiences.

Location benefits:
Rochester offers a thriving healthcare ecosystem, renowned medical centers, and strong community ties. You’ll work in a city known for innovation, the arts, and accessible outdoor recreation—from Highland Park blooms to the Genesee River gorge and nearby Finger Lakes scenery. For those open to travel, there’s the opportunity to work at multiple partner sites across the U.S., gaining exposure to diverse hospital cultures, imaging equipment, and patient populations. You’ll experience the advantage of living in a city with a welcoming, walkable downtown, reasonable housing options, and a calendar filled with festivals, museums, and a robust food scene, while also enjoying easy access to nature, seasonal landscapes, and nearby weekend getaways.

Role specifics and benefits:
As a Radiology RN, your duties center on delivering patient-centered care within imaging departments. Responsibilities include pre- and post-procedure assessment, IV access and contrast administration per protocol, initiation and monitoring of patients during CT and MR procedures, and rapid response to any adverse reactions. You’ll prepare equipment, ensure sterile technique, position patients for optimal image quality, monitor vital signs, and document procedures in the electronic medical record. You’ll collaborate closely with radiologic technologists, radiologists, and unit staff to coordinate patient flow, minimize wait times, and maximize patient safety. The role offers clear pathways for professional growth: expand your expertise with cross-training in interventional radiology or advanced imaging modalities, take on preceptor or nurse navigator responsibilities, and explore leadership opportunities within multiple imaging units. Benefits go beyond the standard: competitive weekly pay ranging from $2,846 to $3,037 (rate depends on assignment and location), a discretionary signing bonus, housing assistance to ease transition, and attractive extension opportunities that let you continue to build expertise with trusted teams. You’ll receive comprehensive support from a dedicated travel team, including relocation assistance where needed, access to credentialing resources, and a structured orientation to new facilities. Crucially, you’ll have 24/7 support while traveling with the company, ensuring you’re never alone when you need help, guidance, or just a quick question on a demanding shift. This role emphasizes work-life balance within fast-paced imaging units, balancing clinical autonomy with team-based collaboration.
