Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care to ED patients per established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Conduct rapid assessments, triage, ongoing monitoring, and escalation of changes in patient status.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered; monitor patient responses and document outcomes.
- Supervise and direct activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with physicians, case management, and other disciplines.
- Apply critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making in a high-acuity environment.
- Document care plans, progress notes, discharge planning, and handoffs clearly and timely.
- Maintain patient safety, infection control, and privacy standards throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Current, unrestricted California Registered Nurse license
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts in a hospital ED setting
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
- Willingness to participate in a 13-week travel assignment and comply with site requirements
